Set Availability

Your availability determines when clients can book appointments. Slotix offers flexible options to match your working schedule.

Weekly Schedule

Setting Regular Hours

  1. Go to Settings > Availability
  2. For each day of the week, set your working hours:
    • Click on a day to expand options
    • Set Start time and End time
    • Leave a day empty to mark it as a day off

Multiple Time Blocks

Work split shifts or have lunch breaks? Add multiple time blocks:

  1. Click Add Time Block for a day
  2. Example: 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00
  3. Clients can only book during these active periods

Days Off

To mark a day as a day off:

  1. Toggle off the day in your weekly schedule
  2. Or delete all time blocks for that day
  3. No appointments can be booked on days off

Availability Exceptions

Adding Special Dates

Override your regular schedule for specific dates:

  1. Go to Settings > Availability > Exceptions
  2. Click Add Exception
  3. Choose the date and set:
    • Day Off - No availability for that entire day
    • Custom Hours - Different hours than your regular schedule
    • Extended Hours - Work longer than usual

Use Cases

  • Holidays - Mark days off for Christmas, New Year, etc.
  • Vacation - Block out vacation periods
  • Special Events - Offer extended hours for special occasions
  • Personal Appointments - Block time for your own needs

VIP-Only Slots

Reserve special time slots exclusively for VIP clients:

  1. Enable VIP-only slots in Settings > Availability
  2. Define specific times that only VIP clients can book
  3. Regular clients won’t see these slots
  4. VIP clients see them marked as “Reserved for You”

How Slot Availability Works

Slotix automatically calculates available slots based on:

  1. Your weekly schedule
  2. Any availability exceptions
  3. Service durations
  4. Existing appointments

Example:

  • You work 9:00-17:00
  • A service takes 60 minutes
  • Available start times: 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, etc.
  • If 10:00 is booked, 10:00-11:00 becomes unavailable

Buffer Time

Consider adding buffer time between appointments:

  • Account for setup/cleanup time
  • Allow for appointments that run over
  • Give yourself breaks between clients

To add buffers, slightly reduce your available hours or add breaks in your schedule.

Tips for Optimal Availability

  1. Be realistic - Don’t overbook yourself
  2. Block personal time - Schedule breaks and lunch
  3. Update regularly - Keep exceptions current
  4. Consider travel time - If you work at different locations

Verification

Test your availability setup:

  1. View your booking page as a client would
  2. Try to book different services at various times
  3. Verify slots appear correctly
  4. Check that exceptions work as expected
