Setup Options

WhatsApp integration requires the WhatsApp Business API. There are two setup modes:

Centralized Mode

Use Slotix’s shared WhatsApp number:

  • Quick setup (no registration needed)
  • Messages come from Slotix’s verified number
  • Best for getting started quickly

Dedicated Mode

Use your own WhatsApp Business number:

  • Messages come from YOUR number
  • Requires Twilio account setup
  • More professional appearance
  • Full control over messaging

Setup with Twilio

For dedicated mode, you’ll need a Twilio account:

Step 1: Create Twilio Account

  1. Sign up at twilio.com 
  2. Complete phone verification
  3. Note your Account SID and Auth Token

Step 2: Get WhatsApp Sender

  1. In Twilio console, go to Messaging > Senders > WhatsApp Senders
  2. Register a phone number for WhatsApp
  3. Complete the WhatsApp Business verification process

Step 3: Connect to Slotix

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > WhatsApp
  2. Select Dedicated Mode
  3. Enter your Twilio credentials:
    • Account SID
    • Auth Token
    • WhatsApp number
  4. Click Connect

How It Works

Client Experience

  1. Client messages your WhatsApp number
  2. AI responds and offers to help
  3. Client can ask questions or book
  4. Booking confirmation is sent instantly
  5. Reminders arrive before the appointment

WhatsApp Message Templates

WhatsApp Business requires pre-approved templates for outbound messages.

Default Templates

Slotix provides templates for:

  • Appointment confirmations
  • Reminders (24h, 12h, 2h)
  • Cancellation notices
  • Loyalty coupons

Custom Templates

To use custom message templates:

  1. Create templates in Twilio console
  2. Get them approved by WhatsApp
  3. Configure in Slotix settings

Troubleshooting

Messages Not Sending

  1. Check your Twilio account balance
  2. Verify the phone number is WhatsApp-enabled
  3. Ensure credentials are correct in Slotix
  4. Check Twilio logs for error messages

Template Errors

  1. Ensure you’re using approved templates
  2. Check template variables match expected format
  3. Verify template hasn’t been disabled

Client Not Receiving Messages

  1. Confirm the client’s phone number is correct
  2. Check if the client has WhatsApp installed
  3. Verify the number format (include country code)
